Aspiring Dentists Event Returns to Lincoln County Hospital

Young people from across Lincolnshire got a taste of life in dentistry this July as the Talent Academy’s popular Aspiring Dentists event returned to Lincoln County Hospital.
Supported by the Lincolnshire Local Dental Committee, the event welcomed aspiring dentists aged 15 to 19 who were keen to learn more about pursuing a career dedicated to improving oral health, relieving pain and restoring confidence.
Exploring a Career in Dentistry
The event provided attendees with a unique opportunity to experience the world of dentistry first-hand, gaining valuable insights into the profession while developing practical skills and knowledge.
Highlights of the Day
Participants had the chance to:
- Meet dentists from the Lincolnshire Local Dental Committee
- Gain insight into the competitive application process for dentistry
- Build practical skills through hands-on clinical workshops, including:
- Alginate impressions
- Composite fillings
- Special care dentistry
- Orthodontics
These interactive workshops provided participants with the opportunity to develop practical skills used in dental settings, while gaining insight into the precision, care, and patient-centred approach required in the profession.
