Aspiring Medics – Boston – April 2025
Posted on 15th April 2025

April saw the return of the Lincolnshire Talent Academy’s flagship “Aspiring Medics” event at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. Held at both Boston and Lincoln, Year 12 students aged 16-17 from across Lincolnshire were successful in securing a place. Under the supervision of experts, students participated in clinical skills sessions and attended informative presentations focusing on the essential skills and knowledge required for a career in medicine.
A big “Thank you” goes to the Boston Undergraduate Medical Education Department for supporting this event. Volunteering their time to help students connect with medical professionals, sharing their experiences, and guiding those aspiring to enter the medical field.
“I enjoyed the event and thought it was highly useful when considering a career in medicine due to the mix of practical and theoretical-based work.” – anonymous attendee quotes
“I signed up for this event to learn more about the medical profession and I learned lots about the profession and the daily tasks day to day doctors do and the things they have to think about. I particularly enjoyed the suturing and learning about the ethics and confidentiality really helped me understand the core pillars of NHS and the medical profession, I would definitely recommend to other aspiring doctors not only informative but great to meet new people!” – anonymous attendee quotes
“Signed up as it was an opportunity to learn and help me decide whether to explore medicine and has definitely helped me decide to look into it more. Loved clinical skills and learning and lovely people.” – anonymous attendee quotes
