Aspiring Occupational Therapy Event Inspires Future Healthcare Professionals

Posted on 7th November 2025

In October, the Talent Academy hosted its first “Aspiring Occupational Therapy” event at Lincoln College’s Clinical Skills Suites. Young people aged 14–19 had the opportunity to meet staff from Lincoln Hospital’s Occupational Therapy team.

Under the guidance of experienced professionals, attendees participated in interactive workshops and insightful discussions, exploring the essential skills needed for a career that goes beyond diagnosis and limitations, supporting independence and helping people live life to the fullest.

Session highlights included:

  • Routes into Occupational Therapy
  • Hand Therapy & Long-Term Condition Management
  • Neuro Outreach Team
  • Acute Occupational Therapy
  • Moving and Handling
  • Occupational Therapy Bingo

Here’s what some of our attendees had to say:

“This event made me want to really look into occupational therapy, and I really enjoyed the practical work, and I think I gained a lot of information from it.” – anonymous attendee

“I heard about this from school and realised that it was indeed a field that I am inspired by. I received an excellent introduction to OT, which led me to consider it as a future career.” – anonymous attendee

“I love occupational therapy and want to become an OT, so this was really helpful.” – anonymous attendee
