Aspiring Physiotherapy – Lincoln – April 2025

In April, the Talent Academy proudly held its first ‘Aspiring Physiotherapy’ event at Lincoln County Hospital. Young people aged 14 to 18 from across Lincolnshire were successful in securing a place at this enriching two-day event.
Under the guidance of professionals, students took part in clinical skills sessions and attended inspiring talks delivered by individuals working in a range of physiotherapy roles.
A heartfelt “Thank you” is extended to the Lincoln County Hospital Physiotherapy team and the University of Lincoln Physiotherapy students for their invaluable support. Helping students explore a career focused on improving mobility and assisting patients in regaining independence lost due to injury, ageing, or disability.
“I wanted to learn more about physio and the different ways into it. I learnt new things that the career entailed and the different ways into it in more depth. I would highly recommend the events. I liked hearing different people’s perspectives and experiences on how they got into the career and getting to see some of the equipment used.” – anonymous attendee
“I signed up for this event because I wanted to gain an insight into what it is like to work with people in a physio role every day. I learnt that you always try your hardest when at work and always try to network so that you can make connections. My favourite part of the event was the sports therapy guest speaker as he gave such a true insight into what it would be like and how much your life has to change to go with your career.” – anonymous attendee
“I signed up for the event to get more insight about the career as it’s not talked about much. I learned that there is much more to the career than what meets the eye and how much work is put into the career. I would 100% recommend young people to attend these events especially when you don’t know what career you want to do as you learn what the aspects of each job are as well as maybe giving you more of an insight into a career you already wanted to pursue. My favourite part was the guest talks and it showed different perspectives and aspects of physiotherapy I had no idea existed.” – anonymous attendee
