Aspiring Theatre Careers – Lincoln – 19 June 2025

Posted on 1st July 2025

In June, the Talent Academy hosted the Aspiring Theatre Careers event at Lincoln County Hospital. Taking place in both Boston and Lincoln, young individuals aged 15 to 19 from across Lincolnshire had the opportunity to explore the essential skills and values required to provide care before, during, and after a patient’s surgical procedure.

Supported by the theatre teams of the United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, attendees engaged in clinical skills workshops and participated in informative talks led by professionals in various roles and specialisms within the theatre environment.

“I wanted to learn about different roles and explore what it could be like to work in an operating theatre. I learned about different anaesthetists, how important it is for everything to be sterile and different tools. Overall, it was a great experience.” – anonymous attendee

“I signed up for this event to further understand the careers in Theatre, that work around the Surgeon, and how vital they are. I learnt about how Surgery prep begins, before the patient is even in the theatre. I would definitely recommend this event.” – anonymous attendee

“Came to see careers in the theatre. Amazed by the helpful staff and hands-on experience. Thanks.” – anonymous attendee
