Posted on 15th December 2025
The Lincolnshire Institute of Technology, in partnership with the Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group’s Talent Academy, has announced the launch of the Lincolnshire Health Challenge 2025/26. This innovative competition invites Year 12 and Year 13 students from across the county to develop creative solutions that could shape the future of healthcare in Lincolnshire.
The challenge is designed to spark creativity, encourage problem-solving, and deepen understanding of health and care issues by focusing on real-world themes drawn from the NHS 10-Year Plan. Students can work individually or in small teams to address one of three key topics:
- Neighbourhood Health Service, Designed Around You – exploring ways to deliver care closer to home through integrated, patient-centred models.
- Power in Your Hands – harnessing digital technology to empower patients and reduce pressures on NHS staff.
- Power to Make the Healthy Choice – promoting healthier lifestyles and tackling health inequalities.
Participants can submit their ideas in various formats, including videos, posters, prototypes, and presentations. Finalists will showcase their projects at the Awards Event on 17 March 2026 at the EPIC Centre, Lincolnshire Showground, where winners will receive prizes and recognition.
Key dates include:
- Registration deadline: 19 December 2025
- Final entry submission: 13 February 2026
- Finalists announced: 23 February 2026
Asim Elawad, Talent Academy, commented:
“Engaging young minds in this challenge enables us to see healthcare through fresh perspectives. These students are the innovators of tomorrow – their ideas could transform how we deliver care across the county.”
The initiative aims to provide students with valuable experience for UCAS applications and CVs, while offering insight into careers within the NHS and the wider health and care sector. Most importantly, the most promising ideas will be shared with NHS leaders, ensuring that student creativity contributes to real change.
