Radiotherapy & Chemotherapy Department Open Day

Lincoln County Hospital 21 Oct 2017 at 9:30am

Do you want to know more about how cancer is treated?

The Lincolnshire Oncology Centre will be open to visitors who want to find out more about Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions, or enquiries regarding Radiotherapy or Nursing career pathways.

“Many people don’t know what a Radiographer does. If you have an accident and go to hospital, the chances are that you will see a Diagnostic Radiographer, who produces images that are used to diagnose injury or disease. However, Therapy Radiographers in Oncology use precisely targeted doses of radiation to treat cancer.

Everyone is welcome to come and see what we do and ask questions,” Jane Hall, Macmillan Specialist Radiographer.

The Chemotherapy Suite will be open to visitors, as well as the Hope Mobile Chemotherapy Unit for people to look around.

Refreshments will be available.

Opening from 09:30 am until 12:30 pm
