Aspiring Mental Health Careers – January 2024

Posted on 29th January 2024

In January, for the fourth consecutive year, the Talent Academy successfully held its ‘Aspiring Mental Health Careers’ event. This free online event provided young people aged 15- 20 years, living or educated in Lincolnshire the opportunity to hear from our colleagues working at Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust. Experts working in the fields of Counselling, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Psychology, and Social work delivered talks providing insight into their area of work and sharing stories about their career paths.

Attendees learnt about the diverse roles within each career and asked questions to speakers who all work in a role that makes a positive difference to people’s mental health and wellbeing.

“This event allowed me to gain knowledge of a multitude of roles I would recommend to others” – anonymous attendee quote

“I always knew I wanted to work in the mental health sector, but it was difficult to find information about all of them.  I would 100% recommend these events, I have learned so much and really enjoyed this.  Thank you!” – anonymous attendee quote

“I learnt a lot regarding how to explore different options within the NHS and how to achieve these options” – anonymous attendee quote

“I would recommend as it gives a lot of information about a variety of different areas within different mental health sectors” – anonymous attendee quotes
