Healthcare Support Worker Apprentice – Boston

This is a unique opportunity to train to become a Level 2 qualified Health Care Support Worker, earning a wage whilst you develop health care skills within the field of Sexual Health as part of the multi-professional, countywide Lincolnshire Integrated Sexual Health (LISH) service. This is a 15 month fixed term Health Care Support Worker Apprenticeship developing specialist knowledge within the area of sexual health. The role can be based at our Boston, Spalding or Grantham clinic. The hours of work will be 37.5, Monday to Friday on the apprentice national minimum wage rate. The post holder will be an integral member of the team with an interesting and varied job role and responsibilities that meet service needs including, but not be limited to:

Carrying out assigned tasks including supervised direct care as delegated by the nursing team:
* Equipment set up & clinic set up and set down
* Health promotion and outreach activities
* Handling and storage and arrangement of transport of specimens
* Clinic stock control, storage and rotation
* Supervised dip testing of urine samples
* Undertaking a variety of administrative, clerical and reception duties as required

The 15 month Apprenticeship Programme involves a combination of; work-based practice, off-the-job support clinics and facilitated group workshops, added valued vocational training courses like First Aid at Work and Trust insight experience days alongside achieving the nationally recognised Pearson’s Level 2 Health Care Support Worker qualification. Training is delivered in-house by LCHS’s Matrix Accredited Centre of Excellence (ACE).
