Trainee Radiation Engineer Practitioner – Degree Apprenticeship
LOOKING FOR YOUR NEXT STEP AFTER A’LEVELS?
Our friendly and supportive Radiotherapy Physics team are looking for an aspiring engineer to join the team as a trainee and help to continue to develop the systems already in place to a level of excellence.
Radiotherapy Physics is one of the Healthcare Science disciplines at Lincoln County Hospital and provides a therapy service using complex equipment and software for the treatment of cancer. Over the last 3 years the department has implemented new systems and we are looking to enhance the support provided for these through the new training scheme developed by the National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS).
As a trainee within the department you will receive a comprehensive and progressive training programme incorporating a fully funded degree via UWE Bristol as part of a level 6 apprenticeship resulting in a B.Sc.(Hons) in Healthcare Science (Clinical Engineering). The practical aspects of the training will be delivered mainly at Lincoln but with some short placements at other Hospitals and engineering disciplines in the East Midlands to broaden your knowledge base. Information about the programme is available at http://www.nshcs.hee.nhs.uk/ptp-join/nhs-practitioner-training-programme. The training is for a three year period starting September 2018 to August 2021. It is expected that there will be an opportunity to apply for a permanent post at the end of this period.
In addition, the NHS offers one of the most competitive benefits package including 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, excellent pension and a comprehensive range of NHS Discounts.
