A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 4 Apprentice Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner at Lincoln County Hospital within the Acute medical team.

The successful candidates must be flexible, innovative, highly motivated and above all be committed to improving the care and assessment of people within the acute setting. The successful applicants will work alongside the MDT and will be well supported within the Occupational Therapy service. This is an exciting time to join us as you will be part of a team that continues to deliver excellent services for our patients. The service requires the post holder to have a passion for working within the busy hospital environment and demonstrate compassion and understanding of the Occupational performance needs of the client group.

As an Apprentice the postholder will undertake the higher apprenticeship Assistant Practitioner (Health) qualification over a two year period equivalent to a Level 5 Diploma.

The Therapy service at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has a well-established team of over 220 Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff across four hospital sites. We provide a service to people in hospital or as an outpatient who are experiencing difficulties with occupational performance.

We assess people’s occupational need, taking into account their occupations, role, environment and lifestyle. We work in partnership with the person to agree priority areas for intervention which address problems with performing and managing occupations and also evaluation of progress towards goals. The focus of intervention is to promote individuals’ independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing whilst in hospital and upon their return to the community.

If shortlisted this will be for interview to become an Apprentice. If successful the applicant will undergo further assessment and interview for their suitability to undertake the Apprenticeship programme.
